All enrollments will be confirmed by an email receipt within 1 hour.

Refunds & Returns Policy
Note that fees cannot be refunded or transferred in the case of cancellation by the student less than 2 working days before the
course starts,
except under special circumstances whereby justification is provided (e.g. presentation of medical certificate).
No partial refund or credit can be granted for classes not attended and no postponement can be allowed except under special
circumstances whereby justification is provided and approval from the AF de Newcastle committee is granted.
In such circumstances, it will be on a case-by-case basis.
In the case of illness, whereby a medical certificate is provided, reimbursements for classes not taken may be made.
ADULTS CLASSES / Conditions of enrollment

Enrollment & Payment Policy
- Enrollment is only confirmed once 100% of the course fee has been paid.
- All payments must be made before the beginning of the term, following the instructions on our website.
- Students who have not completed payment cannot be admitted to class.
- Please do not pay teachers directly under any circumstances.
- Fees are non-refundable unless cancellation occurs before the course begins.
- A minimum of 5 students is required to open a class.
- Classes that fall on NSW public holidays will be rescheduled within the same session.

If a class is cancelled due to teacher illness, it will also be rescheduled within the session.

If a student misses one or more classes, the class cannot be rescheduled, and the missed session cannot be refunded.

However, the teacher will send an email directly to the student with a summary of what was covered and provide homework
or exercises
to help consolidate the learning at home.

If a student begins to fall too far behind, they may arrange private tuition at a reduced rate to catch up. Please email
the administration team before organising anything with the teacher.

KIDS CLASSES / Conditions of enrollment

Fees cannot be refunded for cancellations made less than two days before the course begins.

The Alliance Française de Newcastle cannot be held responsible for changes in a parent’s or child’s commitments or personal circumstances.

Classes will not be held on NSW public holidays. Any affected classes will be rescheduled within the same session.

If a class is cancelled due to a teacher’s illness, it will also be rescheduled within the session.
- If a student misses a class, it cannot be rescheduled or refunded.

After an absence, the teacher will catch up directly with the student to advise what can be worked on at home to
consolidate the learning that was missed. This will be communicated at the following class.

Parents must collect their child on time. A $10 surcharge per 10 minutes will apply for child-minding
after the class has finished.

Students with disabilities and special needs are supported through a range of support measures in our French classes.
Parents or caregivers have a vital role to play in the work of the Learning and Support Team through discussing, planning and managing measures for their child's needs.
Where medical/hygiene measures beyond the training or expertise of our teachers are necessary, parents will become integral to the management of the student, ensuring best possible access to the educational program.
PRIVATE TUTORING CLASSES / Conditions of enrollment

- All payments must be made before the start of the tuition, following the instructions on our website.
- Students who have not completed payment cannot attend their lesson.
- Please do not pay teachers directly under any circumstances.
- Fees are non-refundable unless cancellation occurs before the tuition begins.
Scheduling & Cancellations

Lessons falling on NSW public holidays will be rescheduled at a suitable time within the same period.

If a lesson is cancelled due to teacher illness, it will be rescheduled at an appropriate time.

If a student needs to cancel, they must notify the Alliance Française de Newcastle or the teacher at least 24 hours in advance.

Failure to do so will result in the full fee being charged, and the lesson will not be rescheduled.
- Enrolment is only confirmed once 100% of the tuition fee has been paid.
In case we do not reach the minimum number of students required
- The course may be cancelled and refunded
- The course format may change depending on the number of students enrolled.
